“Visitors to our Eastern Sierra bookstores are curious about the history of this region and want to know how they can get more information on local culture and traditions. We decided to sponsor a conference featuring noted scholars, historians, local personalities, and authors to educate the community, and to remind everyone about the rich history of this area.” Bob Gardner, Mono County Supervisor
The presentations will cover the entire Eastern Sierra including presenters highlighting the unique history and culture of the Eastern Sierra.
The conference will be held from Friday, October 27 to Sunday, October 29 with a dinner Saturday evening featuring local authors and their historical books. Field trips will be held Sunday Oct. 29. The cost of the conference will be $90, seniors $75 and students $20 including the dinner. Single day charges will be $45 for Friday and $65 for Saturday. The field trips may have a small additional charge.
